Reboot and learn from it - damn it!

It's the worst thing in the world to be a procranstinator. But that's what I am.

So, here's my 5th attempt to write and maintain a blog post. I have twitter, facebook, tumblr, wordpress accounts etc

It will be different. It must be different.

So, this is the beginning of a what I hope to be a long series of posts about what I'm doing at the moment in Thailand since moving here 6 years ago and my attempts to start up a new business, my learnings, my dealings with people, the culture and my personal struggles to be a better person. Plus it will make me write better and hopefully I'll learn something from documenting this all.

I hope it will be useful to someone else in my position.

Here goes ...

You know it's up in the air when you thinking about using your own website/blog or using posterous

Decisions_site5posterous

Hmm, tough one. And I'm still thinking about it. Pros and cons. I lead a busy life and I would love to ramble about Thailand, technology and things people are not really interested in. And what's worse is that Posterous exists to give me that one more choice, that one more decision, split decision ... to make.

Oh bugger.

I'm going to toy with building a splash page for my drewkam.com website and see if I can push anything out by the weekends (bets are on if I can make it).  The tough part is finding a drection for the website. Now I've always wanted a place to put up tricks and tips on PHP, MySQL, X/HTML, CSS and JavaScript/AJAX tricks I've learned in the 8 years I've been in the business. Why? Well, why is opensource free eh?

Meanwhile you listen to my even more random rambles on Twitter

p.s. if you didn't notice - (enter shameless plug) I host with Site5.com. Should I change? Oh crap - another decision...

4am thoughts: Is talcum powder cancerous?

I get random thoughts at all sorts of hours. But I was having one of those "fall asleep and wake up and shower at 4am" moments and using some talc made me think as the fine dust dissipated around me. "Shit! Is this stuff cancerous? I use this on a daily basis!"??

Well, I have no idea. A few Google searches later and well, it's still not clear. Will someone get this right and clear this up??

Yes it will

Yes, oh yes it will

No...not really

WTF?

Do you like Strawberries as much as I do?

Img_0032

Obviously I was incredibly elated to get this one off my sister-in-law Chinese birthday cake.  Even though you can get Strawberries the size of a football at Central Chitlom, they just tasted like eating a cucumber ... no fruitiness, no oopmf, no wizz bang pop sweeeeeetttt taste. In short, dull.  This single strawberry however, was rather heavenly.

Anyway, that was just my afternoon random rant. I'm off to do some web work now ... ta ta
